Today, I had every intention of visiting the Citrus Tower in
Clermont, FL

. But the closer I got, the less interested I became.
It's a neat structure that was built in 1956 and I can imagine that it was awesome at that time. But because of time, it seems so much less interesting now. When it was erected, the Citrus Tower overlooked miles of
Florida orange groves

in every direction. With the hills of Clermont, this must have been a fascinating look at one of the largest industries in Florida. However, the view now is of urban sprawl and less than unique buildings. In addition, the Tower itself has seen better days - and this just from the outward appearance. I just couldn't bring myself to spend the measly $4 to go up to the Observation Level and take a look at the roofs of a bunch of houses.
So unfortunately, my opinion is to check out the
Citrus Tower Website (just click this link), which has some interesting info, but not the Tower itself.
